Sherlyn Faye Layton, age 59, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her home.
Ms. Layton was born September 20, 1954 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Edith Beaver Layton, two sisters, Shalyn Maye Layton and Barbara Ethridge, and a brother, Roy Sherman.
She is survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty and Bobby Beckham of Texarkana, Arkansas, Juanita Spencer of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Kathy Goss of Mississippi and numerous other family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Norm Melton officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
The family will be at 1602 Line Ferry Road, Texarkana, Arkansas.
My life was touched by knowing Sherlyn. I will always remember her sweet prayers and how much she cared for others. What a great witness for Christ. She will be missed at our church.
