To the Cunningham family, my condolence.
Reflecting on where we were raised (Shipoke, South 9th Street) and all of the fun we had growing up in that neiborhood we never realized that by todays standards we were consider poor.
As far back as I can remember, I remember Sherm's voice. It was uniquely different, but so was his disposition.
Sherm always saw the good in people and he helped me and countless other see the good in ourselves.

To your family - You do not know me but I knew Sherman. I was a teller at PNC Bank on 29th St. and he used to come into the bank. I just wanted to express my sincere sympathy. Sherman was such a kind and wonderful person who cared about a lot of people especially the young. I remember donating many of my daughters trophies so that he could give out awards to youngsters at the rec center/boys club for their achievements. He was so excited. Always laughing and giving. To the family, I'm sure you know what a special person Sherman was. He touched the lives of so many. He gave me my first job at the Boys Club in Hall Manor. Words can't express the impact that he had on so many. How blessed we are to have know Sherman Cunningham.
