Sherry E. Atticks, 70, of Hallstead, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at home with her family and beloved dogs, Kandy and Ka-Da by her side, after her long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 21, 1952, in Reno, NV, to the late Carlton and Betty Jean (McCormick) Rose. Her husband, Robert C. Atticks, Jr., survives.


Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Chambers, III and Tina Atticks, Vestal, NY, daughter, Heather Patricia Atticks, Binghamton, NY, six grandchildren, Collin and Kaylee Atticks, Kaitlin Farthing, Kyler, Isaiah, and Kingston Hamer, three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Patty (Raymond) Lasher, Linda Danko, Sherry (William) Gallagher, brother-in-law, Ed (Joyce) Shetter, special niece, Lori Shetter and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Sherry spent many hours finding placement for homeless Pekinese dogs and assisted people around the world rescue them.


A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Interment will be in the South Montrose Cemetery. Friends may call on the family an hour prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Molly Rauch to assist with Pekinese dog rescue by emailing [email protected].

You were always a phone call away when my depression was bad and poor Ollie was so sick. I followed your every word and he is still with us. You were and will always be the "peke queen ". They met you at the bridge and are by your side. We will miss you dearly. Until we meet again my dear friend , We love you, rest in peace

Dear Sherry, I am so glad you had your Pekes by your side as well as your family. Your knowledge, talents and love of our Pekes will be missed. You are an inspiration to creative people and those of us who share your love of our Pekes. St Francis, all the dogs you have lived and saved are welcoming you into the presence of God. You, like God love all creatures great and small.

I will miss you Sherry, and my deepest condolences to your family. You were my go to for Pekingese questions. You were the impetus for saving many many Pekingese. You were friends to so many, and a dear friend to me. Thank you for all the times you spoke up. Thank you for being there, thank you for all the laughter and joy you brought, and thank you for bringing Peachy into my life. I love you and hope someday to see you on the other side. ❤❤

Sherry I will never forget you. You have done so much for so many Pekinegse babies and their families. I will never forget Dawn and Damion, Kandy and Ka-Da. You helped me so much when my husband and our Rocco passed. My only regret is that I never met you in person. You were always there to help all of us.

True friends are hard to come bye but a true friend you have always been. You and Bobby will be in my heart forever.
