Sherry Gleason Dowling

Franklin, Tenn.

Sherry Gleason Dowling, 56, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 18, 2010. She was born May 25, 1954 in Decatur to Robert Edward and Nela Cruz Gleason. The family will have a memorial service for Sherry at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church at 6 p.m. Friday October 22, 2010.

Ms. Dowling was an avid Alabama Football fan. She also loved horses and was an award winning show horse rider. Sherry drove a school bus for several years and loved her school children almost as much as they loved her.

Sherry Dowling is survived by one son, Jonathan Patrick Dowling of Franklin, Tenn.; four sisters, Mirtha Jones (Greg) of Chattanooga, Peggy Kilpatrick (Rex) of Madison, Kathy Hill (Tom) of Athens and Kelly Pate (Frank) of Decatur; and four brothers, Bobby Gleason of Charlotte, Pat Gleason (Helen) of Nashville, Mike Gleason of Decatur and John Gleason (Mary) of Mobile.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 or your local Hospice and St. Ann School.

Fifteen years, and I continue to miss you my forever friend. I was in Nashville earlier this month and you were fondly remembered as I shared some of our memories with my travel group. So, so many good times!!! I love you and one day I´ll see you and we will ride horses again...

Sherry and I rode many miles together on horseback and shared great times. She is my forever friend.

Ten years - it's hard to believe you've been gone that long my dear, dear, forever friend.

I knew Sherry In high school also , she was a wonderful lady, Our prayers and love to the Gleasons and Dowlings

Sherry and I became friends when she lived in Jacksonville, FL in the late 70's. We were neighbors and we rode horses togther for many years. She was truly an angel and I am blessed to have her as my Forever Friend.
