Sherry Lee Schultz, age, 82, of Pace, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. Sherry was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late George and Jean Cunningham Smith on April 5, 1941. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry “Dutch” Schultz; and her brother, Bruce Smith.
Sherry was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sherry graduated from Lebanon High School, Lebanon, IN in 1959. Sherry proudly served her country in the US Navy, Rank E-3 (1959’-1960’). She then spent time working as a florist from 1977-1982. She was the owner and operator of Four S Enterprises (1982-2006) and enjoyed working as an after-school caregiver at Touch of Love Daycare (2001-2007). Sherry led a joyful and full life, she enjoyed painting, crafts, card making, garage sales, jewelry making, bowling, boating, water skiing, camping, playing cards, and games with her family. She loved to decorate for the holidays and just spending time with her family and friends.
She was active in her community and served as member of the Wave Unit #52, Beta Sigma Phi 1977-2023 serving in numerous offices. She was a member of First Christian Church, having served as an Elder, Treasurer, President of Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was also a member of Woodbine Church from 2012-2023. At Woodbine Church she helped with AWANA, VBS, nursery and many other church activities. She spent time as a Girl Scout Troop Leader from 1972-1974 and Red Cross Swimming and first aid instructor from 1972-1974. She formed the Red Hat Society in the 1980’s and served as Queen in the Pensacola area for almost 30 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughter, Katheryn Prince, of Jacksonville, FL.; her son, David (Sheila) Schultz, Pace, FL.; her sister, Debi (Steve) Dulaney, Pensacola, FL.; her brother, Dennis (Sally) Smith, Indianapolis, IN.; grandchildren, Amber (Jon) Griffith, Pensacola, FL., Erik (Dana) Prince, Jacksonville, FL., Melissa (Blair) Diamond, Pace, FL., Nikki (Josh) Hunter, Pace, FL., Nick (Lauren) Prince, Southaven, MS., Brianna (Randy) Ward, Pace, FL., Renee (Ryan) Ferrell, Elkton, FL.; great grandchildren, Seth and Preston McClure, Callie and JC Griffith, all of Pensacola, FL., Georgia Hunter, Tynlee and Carl Ward, Amelia and Anna Blair Diamond, all of Pace, FL., Roman Ferrell, of Elkton, FL.; her niece, Jenn Barrera, and her children Haley and Alex, Pensacola, FL.
The family would like to thank Vitas Healthcare, specifically Libby, Charlotte, Ellen, Connie, Shannon and Clara, for the professional care, loving compassion and attention they showed our mother and our family. They were fantastic and made a positive impact in a stressful time in our lives. We would also like to thank Pastor Jimmy Allen and wife, Anita, at Woodbine Church, for being there and praying with our mother during her final hour and for being such a great pastor and friend to her. Thank you to all the family members who spent time loving and caring for her.
A visitation will be held 1:30pm until a Memorial Service to begin at 3:00pm Friday, October 13, 2023, at Woodbine Church, 5200 Woodbine Rd., Pace, FL 32571, with Pastor Jimmy Allen officiating. Committal will be held privately at Barrancas National Cemetery with Military honors being accorded by the US Navy.
