Not sure what to say?

I'm still reeling at the thought of Honeoye Falls and Mendon having to go on without Shirley Arena. She had her finger on the pulse of the community, and knew so much about the background of the place. I learned a lot about writing, life and hard work while at the Sentinel. I pray that the family feels the prayers we send their way and that Shirley's legacy lives on.

What a terrible loss for our community. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Carl,Kim,Lisa,and family,
I am so sorry to hear that Shirley passed away. It seems that I go back a long time ago with the Brown/Arena families. I fondly remember seeing Shirley up at the farm running Claybank Stables along with your dad. Good times and good memories. Alicia enjoyed working for Shirley and learned so much during...

Dear Carl and family...I was so shocked and sad to hear that Shirley had passed away. I suppose I thought she would live forever. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I will miss Shirley! Love, Lisette

Lisa, Kim, Carl and family, my thoughts are with all of you. You all please know you can call on me for anything you need. I have known your Mom, Shirley, all my life and she will be missed by many. Simple memories keep love alive.

I am a better person having had the privledge to get to know Shirley, Carl & Mike. We will all miss Shirley and all she did for the Community and it's Residents with the newspaper. Shirley was in a way a Rotarian at heart, she always told the truth, was fair, built better friendships through her business and it was always for the betterment of the community. WE are the better for all she has done. WE will miss you Shirley. The Honeoye Falls Mendon Rotary Club.

It's the end of an era for the Town of Mendon and the village of Honeoye Falls with Shirley's passing. She was not only an expert on all things Mendon, she had a connection to the past and the previous newspaper publishers. It was a privilege to know her and share in her laughter.

My thoughts are with her family and friends that are grieving their loss. Please know that the entire town shares in your sadness as we say goodbye to an incredible lady.

Shirley Arena was wonderful to work with and an asset to our community. Her smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and work associates.
