SHIRLEY BACH

Shirley was such a kind, gracious, lovely woman. She was one of my favorite undergrad professors, and I enjoyed any time I would see her at WMU, at Bronson or around in the community. She was a real gem. My thoughts are with her family and friends during this time.

Shirley was my professor at WMU in a challenging ethics course. Just when I thought I had a solution to an ethical dilemna, one response from her had me re-thinking everything! She challenged and questioned at every turn, inspiring deep thought and open mindedness in each student. I was in awe of her, and elated when she asked my husband to co- direct some ethics courses with her at WMU. She inspired him! A true Kalamazoo treasure who will be missed.

Shirley was a close friend and inspiration. Her lively spirit graced many an evening with us and it was a joy to share so many professional and avocational interests, be they medicine, bioethics, weaving and Swiss hiking. She will always be loved and remembered--We will miss her so much!

Simply a lovely human being who made the world more joyful.

I enjoyed working with Dr. Bach at MSU KCMS and then seeing her at WMed and around town. She was a wonderful spirit and brought that to her teaching. May she Rest In Peace. I will keep her family in my prayers.

Dr, Bach may have been my favorite professor ever, and I've had plenty. She had ways of making complicated material understandable and enjoyable. I owe my love of ethical dilemmas to her.

Shirley was a treasure, a great gift to Kalamazoo.

Shirley was one of the most gracious, enthusiastic and warm people that I have ever known. Her face and smile could illuminate the whole room! A true music lover, she was knowledgeable and supportive of the Kalamazoo Symphony, its education programs and concerts. Her quick mind and broad interests made it a delight to be with her. Shirley Bach will long be remembered by her many friends and admirers.
