Shirley G (Morgan) Bean, mother and grandmother, 82, formerly of Hunter St., Tamaqua, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Tamaqua R.2.
Shirley had been a self-employed housekeeper.
Born in Gilberton, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Jones) Morgan-Parrish and Howard Parrish.
She had attended Frackville High School and enjoyed swimming, gardening, and shopping.
Shirley was an avid animal lover and a huge Elvis Presley fan.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Gerber and Michelle D. Sedar, both of Tamaqua; two sisters, Donna Parrish of Pottsville and Sandra Parrish-Richter, wife of Brian, of Orwigsburg; a brother, Howard Parrish of Atlas, Pa.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Cecelia Morgan-Krause, Carol Berger, Barbara Morgan-Day, and Loretta Morgan.
Services: will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at noon from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home Inc., 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
Memorials in her name may be made to the Hillside S.P.C.A., Hillside Road, Pottsville, Pa. 17901.
