Not sure what to say?

Jill and Michael
What a lovely obituary and picture. Shirley always made me laugh. One of my favorite encounters was when she first saw my toe head son Phil, who was about a year old at the time. She exclaimed; "Leo! Leo! come look! Can you believe how beautiful he is!" The world is a lesser place without Shirley. She loved children and learning. A great combination.

Dear Michael and Jill,
Your dear mother spoke of you often, so proud of you both and the grandchildren. She knew my mother Helene Goldman Houck many years ago, and when mother died, Shirley visited bringing something sweet from Helen Bernhards bakery, and consoled me lovingly.
When I last saw her, she seemed to know me and thanked me for coming. She was, indeed a special lady.

I didn't know Shirley but I want to say I am sorry for your loss. Of all the obituaries I have read, this one caught my eye. It was so well written and she was so beautiful, I just had to comment. May your memories of her be of love, joy and laughter. A mother's love for her family cannot waiver whether on this earth or in another space and time.
My regards,
Stacy

Shirley was a dear soul. We were neighbors for about 20 years and have fond memories talking to her about anything and everything, especially our shared love of cats. Her cat Checkers was one of our favorites. May she rest in peace with Leo.

Mike, I was so sorry to read of the recent loss of your mother. Reading her lovely obituary brought back many memories of our own Portland youth. Lindsay Galen

Our world was a much better place because of Shirley Bergman's loving and caring spirit. She lives on through her children Jill and Michael and her grandchildren. It was a great gift to have known her.
