BODIS-RYAN, Shirley E. - Of Burton, age 73, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 3PM Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Carl Petty officiating. Private burial will take place. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Family visitation 6-8PM Monday and public visitation 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Tuesday and 11AM Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Shirley was born in Flint, Michigan on May 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Meredith. On May 29, 1954 she married Jack Bodis and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1970. She then married Thomas Ryan in January, 1973 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1995. She was a lifelong member of Heritage Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved going to the casino. She always found good in everyone. Shirley was employed by Fisher Body for 37 years. Surviving are daughter, Dawn Bodis; grandchildren, Daniel and Dustin Dady, Jack Bodis and Dane Bodis; sisters, Geraldine Budzinski, Bev Muir, Betty and husband Lowell Foust; brother, Ronald Meredith; many nieces, nephews and "adopted children".
