Shirley Hypes Bostic of the Old Bluefield Road passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007. She was 71. Born April 12, 1936 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Frazier W. Hypes and Lessie Belcher Hypes. She was preceded in death by two Sisters, Pauline Hypes Hill and infant, Irene Hypes. Survivors include her husband Robert Ellis �Tuffy� Bostic, two sons Greg Bostic and wife Heather of Princeton and Scott Bostic of Dobson, NC. One daughter Kelly Ann Howard, her husband Rusty, and their daughter, Shirley�s only grandchild, Catessa Ann Howard of Peterstown, WV. Other survivors include three Sisters, Doris Dickerson of Hendersonville, TN., Freda Jones of Harrisonburg, VA., Janice Surface and her husband Donald of Princeton. Several Nieces and Nephews Special Care givers, Lawanda Olonka, Norma Tester, Helga Helton and Barbara Lee She was an active member of her community. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Princeton, where she volunteered her services for many years and attended the Earl Graham Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Women�s Leadership at Princeton Community Hospital where she devoted her time to charitable causes affecting the community. She was the Vice President of �Risks Takers�, a financial group she helped organized, and of the Woodmen Lodge #318. An outdoor lover, she enjoyed the beautiful hills and golfing with friends in her home state of West Virginia. She also had a love for the 1931 Model A Ford. Because of this love, she and her husband helped form the Bluestone Antique Automobile Club of which they were charter members. The first Red Hatters group in Princeton, known as �The Dames�, was helped in it�s origination by this avid member. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Randy Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton; Friends may call Saturday one hour prior to services or leave online condolences at www.memorialfd.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society 1808 Jefferson St., Bluefield, WV 24701 or Community Hospice of America 1033 Stafford Drive, Princeton, WV 24740. Pallbearers will be Bobby Artrip, Claude Belcher, Doug Cox, Jim Coiner, Bobby Charles and Bob Bageant
