Shirley Boyce Obituary

Shirley Mae (Somers) Boyce, 91, of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022. She was born on May 2, 1931, in Baltimore, MD to her late parents, Oliver and Sarah Somers.

Shirley was proud to be born and raised in Baltimore where she lived much of her life. She was a graduate of Patterson High School in Baltimore and attended Dundalk Community College in Baltimore. Following her education, she was a bank officer for numerous years. In her younger years, she met and married Edward C. Boyce, sharing a beautiful loving marriage for over 60 years. The two later retired to the Salisbury, MD area where she lived until her passing. She was an accomplished pianist and donated her time, talent, and faith to her church. She will be remembered as a sweet, kind, loving, and compassionate lady with a great sense of humor.

Shirley is survived by her former spouse, Edward C. Boyce of Clearfield, PA, and her nieces, Diane Hall, Shirley Lund, Patricia Robinson, Theresa Henry, and Peggy Stolba.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Childs; brother, James Oliver Somers, and his wife Theresa; and nephews, James Oliver Somers Jr. and Paul Fritz.

A Memorial Service will be held for Shirley on June 24, 2022, at 1:30PM, at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21206.
