Shirley will always be like a second mom to me. She had such a sweet, caring soul and I loved her very much. I will always remember the time she visited us in Missouri when Lauren was an infant and I got to spend some one-on-one time with her and hear stories of her life I hadn't heard before. We laughed so hard too when we ran up and down the basement stairs with all of our "supplies" multiple times in the same night for tornado warnings. I treasure those memories!!

I adored my aunt Shirley she was kind intelligent she had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room when she spoke with you. I am going to miss her so much she is the reason I became a nurse. She was definitely one of my heroes she was so strong and independent and she shared her love with everyone and she shared God with everyone and I so wanted to be just like her. I was so blessed to have her and my Uncle JR in my life you don't realize it as a child but when you...

She was also very sure of her Christian beliefs and held true to them. I was able to visit with her in Arizona about 5 years ago when I went to a conference there. She picked me up and took me...
