Shirley Bush, 87, of Bangor, PA, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, September 22nd, 2025.


Born on May 17, 1938, in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Russel and Carrie (Ziegenfuse) LaBar. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Robert Bush, who passed away in 2017.


Shirley was employed as a presser at the former Portland Novelties in Portland, PA, until her retirement. She was a cherished member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Bangor, PA, and an active member of UNITE, the garment workers' union.


She found joy in spending time with her great-grandson, vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland, and visiting the casino.


Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kimberly E. Broyer; her brother, Wayne LaBar; her granddaughter, Michelle Stevens (husband of Kenneth); her great-grandson, Robert Holland; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Bert, Jim, and Donald, and three sisters, Thelma, Joyce, and Bernice.


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 26th, at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA, with Rev. Michael J. Scholtes officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 1 to 2 PM on Friday, September 26th, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Bangor Cemetery in East Bangor, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
