Shirley was born on August 18, 1932 to Sam and Opal (Watson) Armstrong. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Edward Case on June 29, 1949. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
Shirley was a homemaker and a woman of strong faith. She will fondly be remembered for her love of playing cards and dominoes with her family. Also, for her humor and her love of music (which included songwriting) and creativity, especially with her loving niece, JoAnn Lewis. Her traditional Christmas chocolate pies and fudge will be greatly missed by her family and friends. After the loss of her husband, she developed a passion for collecting cookie jars. Her collection grew to over 200. While residing in her home, her constant companion was her fur-baby, Penny. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be fondly remembered as “Maw Case”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; her sisters, Jolene Smith, Sammie Reader, and Colleen Stewart; and her brother, Raymond Jackson.
Left to carry on her legacy is her son, Roger Case and wife Yvonda; her daughter, Judy Taylor and husband Jerry; her grandchildren, Scott and Lauren Skinner, Rodney and Amy Case, Randy and Cheryl Case, Heather and Ryan Sullivan, and Jonathan and Courtney Hooper; twelve great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Ryan, Dakota, Caroline, Cooper, Tucker, Kolter, Brayleigh, Landrie, Presley, Sadie and Benjamin; and two siblings, Carmen Cunningham, and Norman Jackson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sincere appreciation to Advanced Rehab and Healthcare of Wichita Falls and Hospice of Wichita Falls for their compassion and care.
