Shirley A. Ealey, 87, of Pen Argyl, PA passed away Tuesday, July 19th, at Gracedale in Nazareth, PA.


Shirley was born in Easton, PA on December 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (Heaney) Albert.


She was the wife of the late Robert James Ealey who passed away in 2014.


Shirley was employed as a secretary at Pen Argyl Middle School, until retiring in 1993. Prior to that, she was a secretary for the Bangor Area School District and the Alpha Portland Cement Co. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School.


Shirley was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap, PA, where she sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bangor Elks Lodge, the Slate Belt Medical Center Auxiliary, the Lenape Runners Family Campers Club, and the Family Motorcoach Assoc.


Shirley is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Rutt, wife of Ben, a son, Ronald Ealey, husband of Roxann, 3 grandchildren Maribeth Pfeiffer, wife of Jason, Robert W. Ealey, husband of Kayle, and Jena Hagerty wife of Dylan, 6 great-grandchildren; Riley & Jameson Pfeiffer, Aiden & Ethan Ealey, Silas & Anna Hagerty, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Scott Ealey, and three sisters Helen Huff, Ruth Muller, and Grace Weidman.


A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 3rd at Hope United Church of Christ, 701 Cherry Street, Wind Gap, PA. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Pen Argyl, PA Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
