Shirley Gibbs

Shirley was my mom. She was a great mom. I could not be there when she was leaving us, but I spoke with her on the phone almost every day and was able to tell her how much she meant to me. Shirley exposed me to everything cultural she could, taking me to concerts, plays, art exhibits, peace marches, some of Pete Seeger's concerts for children (black balled years) when he could only preform for children,and so much more. She always had an open mind and was open to try new things. ...
