Shirley Ann Swint Graham, 89, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. She was born to the late Millard F. Swint and Marjorie Jones Swint on March 29, 1928.
Shirley attended Andrew Jackson High School, where she met her husband of sixty-one years, John Edwin Graham, Sr. Devoted to the Christian faith, Shirley was a longstanding member of The First Baptist Church Jacksonville and more recently Christian Family Chapel.
Her faith and family were Shirley’s passion and joy. She loved teaching Sunday school classes and especially enjoyed her years ministering to multiple Singles Groups. Shirley was a beloved mother to her three children and she dedicated her life to them and to her husband. Renowned for her pot roast and mashed potatoes, she often hosted Sunday dinners during which extended family gathered and enjoyed one another’s company.
Above all else, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was very active in their lives from birth through adulthood and loved being with them. She spent countless hours on the floor with them playing games and making them happy in their formative years. She was particularly thrilled by her great-grandchildren, and looked forward to visits with great anticipation.
Shirley and her only daughter, Mary, had a very special bond. They were best of friends and deeply loved one another. This enduring bond was evident in the caregiving Mary faithfully provided to Shirley during her later years.
My condolences to the Graham families. Such a sweet, loving woman, and Aunt. We love you and miss you Aunt Shirley. Merry Christmas in Heaven.

Shirley & John Graham were both kind and uplifting people. They were our teachers in our FBC singles class. We have fond memories of fellowship and prayer at their home after visitation every Tuesday night. Shirley always had home made snacks for us to eat. Reba and I have been married for 34 years, but the memories are still very vivid in our minds. Dan & Reba Hewett
