Shirley Childers Harris

I am so sorry about Shirley! She was such a sweet friend! She will be missed by so many!

I will always treasure having been a fifth grade student in Ms Shirley's class. I will always remember the claw foot "reading" tub and your homemade lemon ice cream. You were an excellent teacher, and a wonderful person.

Thank you for being an example to me as a young teacher. I took what you taught me and did what I could to spread it throughout many schools in the state. "The library should be the hub of the school." SH

In my 10 years teaching in YSD1 Shirley was the only administrator that ever observed one of my classes. She cared!!!! Thanks for all you did, Shirley.

I am so very sorry to her about Shirley´s passing. She was one of my very favorite teachers and a large part of why I became a teacher too.

Sweet Mrs. Childers! She left a lasting impression on me about reading. I still love reading today. She was my 5th grade teacher. She and Ms. Cannon. I vividly remember them having us all live up together and saying the blessing before we walked to lunch. God bless you and yours and thank you for sharing her with me. RIP Ms. Childers
