Single Memorial Tree

I met Shirley while working at the Sun Journal and we became good friends. My husband and I have a lot of memories with Shirley and Rick and a lot of stories to tell. Shirley introduced me to my first cruise and Pete was hooked. I pray that she is at peace and reunited with Rick and hopefully she got to see my beloved Pete.
I’m very thankful that I was able to visit Shirley last January when I was in Florida. Rest in peace, my friend

Wendy and family, please accept our condolences and sympathy. Sorry for the loss of your Mother. John and Lindy Wood

Shirley was a good friend and will miss her.

My memories of my Aunt Shirley are of an outgoing, fun-loving woman who always put family and friends first. I was a thirteen year old when I attended Uncle Rick and Aunt Shirley's wedding in Maine. Even at my young age and limited experience, I could see how their individual strengths and vulnerabilities complemented one another to build a loving and lasting relationship. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and flourish over the decades of family reunions and shared vacation visits....

Shirley was a special sister-in-law. She was great for Rick. Enjoyed our visits to Maine and their visits to Ohio. Was great getting together with our whole families during the family reunions held in various states as different families hosted them. As we all got older and had more trouble traveling the in-person visits had to stop. We also took a cruise with Rick and Shirley along with her sister Lorraine and her husband Dick. Sure do miss seeing more of the family.

She and I grew up together and we were close cousins when we were younger. She always had a great sense of humor. She helped me out one summer when she knew I was having financial struggles. She came to visit one summer not long ago, so happy I got to see her. We kept in touch on facebook. She had such a loving and caring heart. I'm so in shock that she is gone. Will miss her so much. My sincere condolences to the family. You're all very much in my thoughts and prayers!

Both Shirley and Rick loved to play cards...They spent many afternoons with my Mom and I playing cards around the table. Our thoughts and prayers to the family, she will be missed.

Enjoyed the time spent with Shirley and Rick, playing cards, bingo, ball games, hockey games and the time shares, Disney and Bush gardens. Beautiful people always inviting family and friends to share their excursions with. I recall our last conversation Dec 28-2022 you had lost your phone and contacted me on FB to call your phone so you could find it. It worked you found it and we had a nice conversation. Rest in Peace.
