I feel very privileged having known Shirley as a teacher and ultimately a personal friend. I have always admired her special qualities-caring, nurturing and kindness. I shall miss her terribly!

Shirley was a dear friend and part of our family. We will miss her greatly.

Shirley was my Audiology teacher my Freshman or Sophomore year at Gallaudet, back in the late '60s. She was a lovely person, great smile, friendly, kind, caring...

Shirley was a true friend. When I first moved moved to Maryland, she and J.J. were the first people to host us. I lived with them briefly before moving to Scranton and enjoyed every moment. She was a fantastic cook and the best hostess I have ever known.

Shirley you are missed

I remember when I was moving from Bowie she came over and spent the whole day helping me pack up allll my glassware! Wonderful person...

Such a warm and loving soul. And the best Lemon Bars ever! Shirley loved with her whole heart. She is a lesson in 'how to be' for all of us. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. My whole family is.
