Shirley D. Laborde

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley D. Laborde will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Marksville with Fr. Jose Pallipurath officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville.

Mrs. Laborde, age 55, of San Antonio, TX entered eternal rest on Friday, July 18, at home in San Antonio, TX.

Shirley attended Hessmer High School LA. She was a homemaker, a teacher?s aide at Kitty Hawk Middle School in Converse TX, and salesperson at the Alamo Stichin? Post in San Antonio TX.

She enjoyed sewing, caring for her Chihuahua dogs, and time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Firmin Dauzat.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 36 years, Vincent Laborde, brother, Robert Dauzat, sister, Brenda Ivy, sisters-in-law, Gail Dauzat, Brenda Laborde, Beth Laborde, brothers-in-law, Larry Ivy, Mark Laborde and Nathan Laborde. She is also survived by two children, Kerrie Stephens and Eric Laborde, father, Darrel Dauzat, 4 grandchildren, Gabriella Serrano, Cheyenne Stephens, Rayannah Stephens, and Toby Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), your local Animal Rescue organization, or local shelter for battered women and children.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with a Rosary to be held in the Chapel at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 15, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. until funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel.

Please accept my apology for this delayed note, but I just learned of Shirley's death. I'm terribly saddened to hear of her untimely and sudden end. You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

Shirley's love for people and puppies will be evident in heaven as is was here. I will enjoy reconnecting with the two of you there. :-) Meanwhile, I pray for you and your family that miss her so much.
