Alexander Funeral Home, Inc. - Charlotte Obituary

Shirley Denise Lark affectionately known as “Pie” was born onto this earth on September 9, 1956 in Charlotte, NC.  She entered into the gates of Heaven on November 10, 2018 at 11:10 a.m.

She was a very caring, compassionate, giving person with a comedic spirit.  She was a marvelous cook and loved cooking for family gatherings on holidays and any other occasion the family came together.  Shirley enjoyed watching television!  Some of her favorite shows were Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Swamp People and The Incredible Dr. Pol.  To top it off, she loved “Wally World” AKA the Walmart!  She also looked forward to weekend shopping excursions with her daughter and ending the day at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.  Until her health declined, she was dedicated staff member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her Mother, Dorothy Lark, Father, James Lark and brother, James “Bo Bo” Lark.  Her siblings left to mourn are Elizabeth “Pudding” Lark, Christine B. Lawrence (LC) and Leroy Washington (Annie Mae).

She also leaves to cherish her committed son, David “Weasel” Lark (Kim) and devoted daughter, Donshae “Punky” Lark who were both by her side until the very end.  She will also be missed by her long-time companion, Donald Clark.  Tamika “Meek” Lark, Shirley’s favorite niece was extremely special to her along with nephews John “Boodie” Lark (Mignon) and Cedric “Scooter” Lark (Latasha) who will all miss her tremendously.

Shirley also leaves behind two grandchildren, Daisha and David “Puff” Lark and a wealth of Aunts, Uncles, Great Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
