CORINTH -- Shirley (Waldron) LeClerc, 80, of Corinth, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on Jan. 20, 1926, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Harold "Bus" and Ella (Barber) Waldron.

A lifelong resident of Corinth, Mrs. LeClerc graduated from Corinth High School in 1943 as Salutatorian of her Class.

She married Robert LeClerc on June 26, 1948, in Corinth.

Mrs. LeClerc worked at the A & P Market in Corinth and moved on to work in the payroll office at Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth until she started a family.

She was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception for many years, was a member and officer of the Catholic Daughters and of the Altar Rosary Society.

For many years, Mrs. LeClerc was actively involved in the Corinth Youth Commission and was co-founder of the Corinth Youth Center and served on the board of directors for several years.

She enjoyed being part of the Corinth Alumni Association in which she served as secretary and class representative for many years, and in 2003 was chosen alumni of the year.

An accomplished seamstress and quilter, Mrs. LeClerc thoroughly enjoyed getting together with her Thursday afternoon "Hens" sewing group and being a member of the Hudson River Piece Makers Quilt Guild and the Wings Falls Quilt Guild.

If asked though, she would tell you her greatest accomplishment was her family.

Survivors besides her husband of 57 years, Robert LeClerc, include three daughters, Lucinda Woodcock and her husband, Michael of Corinth, Yvonne Graham and her husband, Timothy of Glens Falls, and Adrienne Milligan and her husband, David, of Corinth; six grandchildren; Jessica Beagle and her husband, Jack, of Corinth, Hillary Mason and her husband, Dennis, of Hadley, Megan, Emily and Timothy Graham of Glens Falls, and Lizzie Milligan of Corinth; one great-granddaughter, Jerica Beagle of Corinth, two brothers-in-law, Norman LeClerc and his wife, Nancy of Corinth, and Lawrence LeClerc and his wife, Irene, of Norwalk, Conn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Charles Gaffigan, pastor, and the Rev. Owen Shanley, co-officiating.

A Rite of Committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corinth.

Following the committal, friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Shirley's life at the Corinth Fire House, Route 9N, Corinth.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers,. donations be made to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth, NY 12822 or to the Corinth Elementary School Library Book Program, c/o Corinth Central School, 105 Oak St., Corinth, NY 12822, Attention: Kate St. Andrews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.

The Mead Family at Bob & Shirl's 50th Anniversary - Watching the way Bob & Shirl raised their family, made us want to do the same raising our family. Shirl taught us a lot about family, love and life. We will miss her dearly. Ed, Deb, Heather & Kim

She was probably the most loving person that I have ever been blessed to know and she passed that on to you. Shirley you were a good, no great, and faithful servant and you ran a great race.
