Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Shirley Nelson Maynes. We were neighbors--kitty-corner (the Andersons) and Shirley was my ideal because she loved to write. (She was editor of the Sandy Jr. High Flashlight.) My sister, Glenda, was
good friends with Shirley's sister Sandra. Miles and years have separated us but I still cherish the memories of Shirley as a studious and ambitous teen-ager.

Dear Gaylen and Family,
Our hearts go out to you and your family at this time. We have wonderful memories of Shirley that will live on in our hearts.
Love,
Bob & Marilyn Hardcastle

Dear Uncle Gaylen and Family,
We will truly miss Aunt Shirley. She was an amazing lady. We have great admiration for her and her accomplishments. Memories of Aunt Shirley are cherished in our hearts.
With Love, Creig & DeAnna Maynes

We are saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a true lady of class and an example to us all with her service in the community. We cherish our memories of her in our home as her and her husband served as faithful home teachers. Our condolences to her family. She will surely be missed.

Dear Gaylen and family,

We cherish the memories of our Dear Cousin Shirley. One that comes to mind
is her helping her Aunt Jane Hardcastle with her family history...
We are never separated from those we love, because we will always have memories of the those we loved so very much...

I have met no kinder, virtuous lady than Mom Maynes. She first touched my heart when she made a beautiful quilt for my first born baby girl and through the years, she is loved by my whole family as a loving grandma.

One of the "elect" daughters of God has returned home. The name of Shirley Maynes will long be remembered--especially to those of us in the Mormon Battalion Association. Her last letter to me, written on December 2nd 2009 included her written history of the Mormon Battalion Auxiliary of which she played such an important part. Our prayers go with you Gaylen as you have this leave of absence from your beloved.

Gaylen and family,
We express our deepest sympathy to you at this time. Sherm is good to try to keep up on the news even when we are out of town. We are in Gilbert, Az. with our daughter & family but will try to get back for the funeral if all goes well. I remember tending the twins one time in your home in Sandy. It was fun and now we have 7 year old twin boys here in Gilbert, Az. It's been fun to see them. Our love Norene & Sherm

I am very sorry for your loss. Love Susan Hokanson
