MCCASLIN, SHIRLEY ARLENE A.S.I.D. The daughter of John and Mary DuMonthier Yauch was born in Flint on December 5, 1927, and died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Albert McCaslin; sisters Barbara, Betty and Ione; beloved niece, Carrie Lynn Kram. She is survived by her four children and their families: Jim (Kass), John (Annabelle), and Joe (Tami) McCaslin and Mary McCaslin-Good (Tom); sisters Maxine (Jack) Tullar and Beverly (Gary) Cramer and brothers Corbin and Ronald Yauch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley recently celebrated her 62nd year in interior design. At the time of her passing she was still trying to retire from Feige's Interiors of Saginaw, no easy task as she so treasured her colleagues and clients. Shirley brought seemingly endless energy and commitment to her family, friends, and community. She was welcoming and kind, courageous and fierce. She inspired many, particularly her grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Jason (Christy), Jim (Sierra), Joey, and Jocelyn and her 6 great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and laughter. Shirley was an optimist; she felt loss deeply, but until her last day always rebounded to thrive again. In recent years, Shirley enjoyed the company of dear friend Marvin Coulter; oh, how they could dance! The family thanks the staff of St. Joseph's and Kindred Hospitals in Tucson for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, if desired please direct donations to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Joe Fix officiating. Burial in Argentine Cemetery. Visitation 1-3pm and 6-9pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 9:30am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at church until the time of the Mass. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com

Not sure what to say?

I was very shocked and saddened to learn about shirley's passing. I saw her a year ago last summer at a outdoor party and she was her same bubbly friendly self. I still enjoy the way she suggested I place furniture in my home, particularly a grandfather clock at the end of my couch where a table wasn't needed because she found a beautiful glass topped brass coffee table in front of the couch. Such a talent she had. She had her Arizona place in a complex that was owned by my cousin Ike...

I was just a youngster when I knew Mr and Mrs. McCaslin, what a wonderful beautiful woman she was. I have many fond memories spending time at the lake house with the family. My prayers go out to the family

I was unfortunately out of the country when I learned of Shirley's passing and unable to attend the service. As someoene who had the honor of knowing Shirley for many years when she worked at Fiege Interiors, I can only comment that she was a true professional who carried herself with dignaty and charm always a pleasure to be around and someone who possessed greta talent in her work. I will have wonderful memories of those days and will always fondly remember this fine lady.

Shirley was one of a kind. The Mayes family has wonderful memories of Shirley and Jim laughing and sharing wonderful times in Port Austin. The world is a touch sadder...but Heaven became a touch brighter and know they are celebrating. God speed Shirlie...Thank you for the wonderful life and warm memories. William sand Karen Mayes

I am saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. I also worked with Shirley at Fegie's, what a wonderful lady. I am so glad to have seen her this summer. She will be missed, your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

The neighborhood at the Voyager RV Resort in Tucson will never be the same! Shirleys smile and laughter always brightened where ever she would be. We always looked forward to her entertaining as it was always done in style and class. Rest in peace Shirley, we miss you!

To Shirley's Family -
There are few people in our lives who can change the way we see life. Shirley is one of them. I worked with her at Feiges and looked forward to seeing her come through the door every day she was there. What an amazing and positive influence she had on so many. A truly classy lady. I still share stories about Shirley to this day with anyone who will listen. God bless you all. My sincere condolences.
An angel has indeed walked among us.

To all of Shirley's family,
I was saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. I was fortunate to work with Shirley at Feige's Interiors as a fellow Interior Designer and later as her Manager. I learned a great deal from Shirley. She was a kind and generous person and a true professional. I moved back to Maine in 2004 but was able to see her periodically on trips back to Michigan, at Feige's. She was always positive, always polished and always professional.
My condolences to you.

Dear Jim, John, Mary and Joe,
I was saddened to learn of your mother's passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families. The many memories of Shirley and growing up at Bass Lake will following me the rest of my days, she was kind, gentle, inspirational and a great role model, not to mention, one of a kind.

You will be missed, but forever remembered!
