One of my greatest joys of working @NRC was getting to know and become friends with Shirley. I told her often , she was what I wanted to be when I grew up. I am so sad I didn´t say goodbye before she moved!

Shirley and Dick were my foster family when I went to college in Scottsbluff in 1969. I have remained a Foster Child with Shirley since topping 56 years this August. A special family an extra special mom to me for this entire time. A special caring individual always, I will miss our conversations, cards and special visits.

Shirley was a dear friend to my husband and me when we lived in Nebraska. I absolutely loved her. Not knowing that she now was living in Colorado, I mailed a birthday card to her in Nebraska. Shirley´s kind demeanor, her smile, and her friendship will always remain with me.
