Not sure what to say?

I would like to give George and his family my condolences. I did not know your mother, though the student memories of her tell volumes. George you were in my class at Fillmore High. I remember a very nice, smart young man. I think you left in 10th grade for an even better prep for college. I wish you and your family the best as you celebrate your mother's life.

Dear Family and Friends of Mrs. Moore: I am sorry but I do not know any of the family but when I saw the picture in the Star it immediately took me back in time to my years at SPHS, Class of 1971. That was such a nice picture of an attractive and bright lady. She was funny and witty and did not take any stuff from the library crowd. I am glad to know she had a large family and a long life. My sincere sympathy to you all on the passing of a lady who made a positive impact on many young people.

To the family of Mrs. Moore. I saw a lot of Mrs. Moore during my years as a student at SPHS and also having taught there for several years. Mrs. Moore was a great listener to students, compassionate and maintained a very respectable library atmosphere. She was very knowledgeable about books and was very capable of zeroing in on a student's interest for book suggestions. I definitely missed her knowledge of the library resources after she retired. She was exceptionally sharing with her...

To the family~ I was just talking about your mom the other day when I was remembering high school. I graduated in 1969. She would not take any nonsense from kids while in "her" library but she always knew exactly what kind of book that I would love to read. I told her just one time the kind of things that I liked and from then on whenever I came in looking for a book.....she would look at me and say "come here" and then pull out just the perfect one. When I saw her picture as a young...

George, Dwight, Reagan, and Kathy,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My thoughts are with you,

George, Dwight, Reagan, Kathy and all the rest of the family. I wish I could attend the memorial for your Mom. She was such a wonderfully spunky person with terrific drive and purpose. Her regular calls to Mother in the later years were much appreciated, as was her attention when we were kids. And as a librarian myself I really appreciate your "in lieu of flowers read a book and support your local library." I'll think of Shirley on the 27th.
Fondly, Penny French Kaplan
