Not sure what to say?

My mom Helen worked for Aunt Shirley at EGR for many years. She had nothing but great things to share about Shirley. By far Mom's favorite Aunt. We were happy to see her at Mom's funeral. Sorry for your loss Patty. Hugs and love, Carolyn.

I had the privilege of working with Shirley from 1992 to 1997 as a young Assessor in Grand Rapids. She was my boss and mentor, and her strength, character, and poise taught me much about the heart of a public servant. Shirley´s encouragement and support continued to inspire me throughout the years. She will be deeply missed. -Matt Woolford

I was fortunate to meet Shirley when my mother moved into StoryPoint 18 months ago. Her warm smile and engaging personality won me over and I so enjoyed our frequent talks. And to learn that she lived in the same neighborhood where I currently reside! I will miss our visits. My love to her family- you will be in my heart and my thoughts during this difficult time.

I remember the many happy visits we had when our families got together. Aunt Shirely always wanted to get together when we came back to Grand Rapids. She was a gran lady and we'll miss her.

Rest in peace, Shirley. Dennis

I've worked at East Grand Rapids with Shirley. I was in the accounting department and then went on to MSU for an accounting degree. During breaks and summer I worked for her in the assessors dept. department. When I graduated with my accounting degree before I started my next job I was the temporary assessor while she had her surgery! She was an incredible leader, mentor for women and one of the most incredible bosses I ever had. Sending you all my sympathy for your loss.

Our many visits with Shirley were always great fun We interrupted one of her social gatherings at Story Point Special Lady!
