Shirley was a bright star in the alto section of the Springfield Symphony Chorus. She would always introduce herself with a twinkle in her eye as Shirley Palmer, Alto. We walked together several times during lunch break when we rehearsed in E. Longmeadow. She shared stories about her husband and family in Dexter, Maine. I am sad she has passed. She was one great lady.

Shirley was a special member of the Springfield Symphony Chorus. She was an inspiration to us younger folks. We will miss her and the chocolate-covered Ritz Crackers she often brought to parties. Rest in peace and sing with the angels, Shirley.
