I just spoke to my former Forest Park High School classmate Karen Banfield Evans and was told of Shirley Pinkett's passing. My sincerest sympathies to the family. Shirley and I were members of the Baltimore Association of Bench and Bar Spouses and were sorors (Alpha Kappa Alpha). I was looking forward to her participation in the upcoming National Bar Association/National Association of Bench and Bar Spouses Convention in Baltimore - July 31, August 1, 2, 3, this year. She will be missed.

Our sincere love to the Pinkett Family in you loss of your matriarch. Shirley Pinkett was a vital member of the Charlestown Community Family. Her joy for life showed itself in her giving of herself in relationships with new friends as well as keeping her long term ties. She served as a host on our morning TV show and as talent, singing her spiritual music and was active in our Church. She will be deeply missed, but kept alive in love.

Jada, I did not know your dear Grandmother, but because I feel like I know you and your family through television, my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your entire family during this difficult time. I pray for God's peace and comfort to surround you. I know the angels are happy they received a special one.

My prayers to the Pinkett Family. In tribute, Aunt Shirley was my mentor when I first first moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the early 1990's. She was a Inpiration to all.
