Not sure what to say?

Thinking of Mrs. Pratt today while watching the Giants football game. What a fan she was! I was a student of hers in the 90s. I still talk about the assignment to describe in 5 paragraphs the sensation the occurs when ice melts in a glass of water...She was a really special teacher.

Mrs. Pratt was one of my favourite teachers ever. She inspired me more than she will ever know. Rest in peace dear Mrs. Pratt. You will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Pratt taught me about the English language and about life. She had a sign on her desk that said, "you gotta know what sells"! She was so right. God bless you, Mrs. Pratt. (Class of '76)

God Bless you Mrs. Shirley A Pratt. You were an amazing teacher.!

Jim, Marie and Andrea, my sincere and heart felt sympathy on the sudden loss of your beautiful mother. I am so sorry I couldn't be present to you at your mother's wake and funeral. Know that my prayers are with you as you grieve. What a tremendous loss for you and for all who had the privilege of knowing and working with this great educator. I pray for your strength. Your Mom is at peace with your father and Marguerite. Peace!

Marie, My sincere condolences to your family, and to the friends and colleagues of Mrs. Pratt. She was one of my favorite teachers at Cathedral. I remember her being very fair and firm, dedicated and pleasant, caring and kind, and a truly good soul! Anyone who had her for a teacher was truly blessed!
My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Pratt and her family, friends and colleagues. God bless!
Diane Waterhouse Barbarisi, class of 1976

Mrs. Pratt was a wonderful teacher and person. She was my English teacher during my freshman year in 1983 and she treated everyone with respect. So often I will think of her when I am helping my daughters with their literature papers. I remember the rules of correct grammar and sentence structure she taught with easy. Rest in peace Mrs. Pratt. You were truly one of a kind.

I don't remember the face but I remember the name and was mainly an English girl, even when I went on to Syracuse University. I am so sorry to hear this as I have the fondest of memories of Cathedral and the teachers there. What a wonderful profession and school to dedicate your life to. She must have been proud of her accomplishments as she should have been. She shaped so many minds and that deserves a hearty thank you. Miss Pratt, job and life, well done.

To the Pratt family we extend our deepest sympathy. We hope for peace in your hearts during this most difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
