Mrs. Shirley Marie Rinehart, age 79, of Euharlee, and formerly of Armuchee, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Rinehart was born in Montrose, CO on February 18, 1937, daughter of the late Matt Herrera and the late Beatrice Gallegos Herrera. Prior to her retirement, she was an employee of a bakery. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Samuel Rinehart in 2009, by brothers and sisters, John Herrera, Margerite Cruz, Ethel Herrera, William Herrera, Virginia Bera, Lucille Herrera and Mardell Roller. Mrs. Rinehart had a great love for the Rocky Mountains, the outdoor life, her family, and all who knew her. She was a non-denominational Christian.
Survivors include her 2 children, Michael C. Rinehart, Dallas, GA, and Teresa M. Metzger, Euharlee; a sister, Kathy (Kurt) Weythman, Grand Junction, CO, and a brother, Dareld (Diana) Herrera, Centennial, CO; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Voeltz, Denver, CO, Trevor (Whitney) Metzger, Rome, Kara Metzger, Euharlee, and Caleb Neiber, Euharlee; 5 great-grandchildren, Sammy and Trey Metzger, Katie Grace, Riley and Zach Metzger; a special niece, Pam (Ed) Schlienmeyer; several other nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Rinehart will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Alan Fuller officiating. Eulogies will be given by family members.
