My sister and I both danced all of our childhood, so when I heard that Shirley lived at The Abbington, I called my sister and said "Lets go meet her!" in true geek fanning fashion. Shirley was famous in our circles. We wanted to go thank her for all of the dance influence she had in our lives. We loved our visit, and she perked right up when we entered and spoke dance vocabulary! I now am in the Branch leadership and have had the opportunity to see Shirley much more often, and will miss her...

Shirley was such a kind person. She took the time to write me the most beautiful letter after watching me teach children at a conference. She also got me to take the two week teacher workshop Ririe/Woodbury offers in the summer. The world was blessed to have Shirley in it.
