Not sure what to say?

To Garry, Petey, Jay and June,

I have many fond memories of Shirley since our first meeting 40 years ago. I will never forget her keen interest in my children ( her grandchildren ) and now her great-grandchildren. She has left a wonderful legacy for them.
My deepest symapathy to all of you.

Petey and family,
We are so sorry for our loss.
We loved knowing you and your Mom.
We are thrilled to have known her,
and our hearts are with you in
your sorrow.
Love,
Reverend George and Phyllis Tolone

Petey and Karl (and everyone that has known Shirley). I am so sorry for our loss. Her zest for life was an inspiration. I will miss our 'orange' discussions whenever we met. My favorite memory of Shirley was in the Carrier Dome - S.U. vs W.V. - the undefeated season - her positive encouragement as S.U. fell further behind - until at the end when I turned to see the 'smile in her eyes' when Michael Owens crossed the end line with 'the two pointer' - like she had expected all along. What a...

Dear Petey, Gary and family,

It was with a saddened heart that I heard the news of your mom's passing. I had grown to know Mrs. Savage and your family over a period of some 30 years. From the store in Midtown Plaza to your last location in Armory Square, it was your mom's early encouragement which helped fortify my resolve to become a photojournalist. Mrs. Savage was a savvy business woman, who's intelligent common sense manner showed her thoughtful, caring and loving nature. She...

Petey and family,
Your mom will be greatly missed in Armory Square. Shirley was such an integral part of the square. She had her hands into so many peoples lives, she gave us all of her best. I am so glad you both stayed at Hendricks as long as you could. But to those of us left behind in Armory Square we will always remember with fond memories that is was a big part of Shirley and Petey, Hendricks Photo. My sincere condolences on your loss.

I was not on the Armory Square delivery route quite long enough to get to have known Shirley well but i must say that just being at the store on a daily basis was the brightest part of my day.

Petey, Gary, and family,

I just learned of your loss today and want to send my condolences to you. I knew your Mom since the late 1960's, and had always admired her business acumen and determination.

Syracuse and the photographic community have lost a legend, and we were all fortunate that she was a part of our lives.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Shirley,
I did not have the priviledge of knowing you that long. But in the time I have known you I was lucky enough to be welcomed into your Armory Square entourage. We really relied on your knowledge of Syracuse as we were able to win the Hanover Squares trophy that you so proudly placed in its seat of glory in your shop. You will be truly missed as you were an amazing spirit. It was a pleasure to get together with you. Do me a favor and give Mr. Walton a "Hi Five" for us.

Petey and family,

I want to send you my deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I am going to miss your mom at the SU football games come fall! What a great lady and knowledgeable fan! I loved hearing her comments about games way back when and the days when she went to college. She never failed to ask how my daughter (who she only met once) was doing in high school, then college, then grad school.

I am glad I got to know her in my life.
