I was so amazed to see her pictures because well, I'm her granddaughter, daughter of her son, George Shaw. I miss you Granny.

Shirley, I, your siblings and all your family miss you terribly. We are so proud of you and your contributions to your family and country. But, you are truly missed.

Today has been 8 years since this amazing lady left our world. What a true loss for so many, her memory lives on

You will always be a special and loved person. Today is April 11 and in 1965 we were married and spending our 1st year of marriage with the 25th Division in Cu Chi, R.V.N. You excelled your entire life and you took your leave of absence, far too early. May you be reunited with those who have gone before and may you be at rest.

She was patriotic, careing, intelligent, thoughtful and determined, excelling in her endeavors and her personal life.

I was proud to serve as 24th District Commander when Shirley was our State Commander in 2005-06. She did a great job at whatever she put her hand to. She cannot be replaced.

You did well, at home and abroad. Your leadership, smile, sense of humor, dedication and service will always be missed. Fare well.
