I´m grateful to cousin Shirley for encouraging my love of reading by loaning me her Nancy Drew and other books when we were still kids. So I always thought that librarian was a perfect career choice for her. She spent her life encouraging others to love books and reading. A life well spent.

I offer my sincere sympathy for a wonderful person of faith. She was always so sweet and thoughtful. We have lost lots because of her beautiful spirit.

Shirley and I shared an apartment for three years from 1971-1974 in Sumter, SC where she had her first job as a librarian. Shirley was a dear friend and was maid of honor in my wedding in 1981. We remained friends for 51 years visiting each other a few times, writing letters, remembering each other with Christmas gifts and birthday gifts for many years and emailing each for the last few years. I last heard from on December 20, 2021. I will miss her. Rest In Peace my dear long time friend....
