Not sure what to say?

I just found this obit for a friend I knew mostly through emails and genealogy research. I hope this is the right person?. If there is a family member still interested I would like to stay in touch. She and a couple others formed a team to identify our Russell progenitors-she was Sherlock. I once visited her. She was a great person, intelligent and always fun. Solidly determined to solve the most complex mystery. I still miss her help.

Our sympathies go out to Shirley's family. We never knew her but Jake and Nicki certainly have fond memories of you.

I love you and miss you so much Grandma. To say the last few days have been hard is an understatement, it hurts so much.

I will always strive to make you proud and make the best of what I'm dealt. I will keep the promises that I made you and will raise my family with your values and love.

Thank you for everything, I plan to see you again and get that amazing hug from you that always made my world feel right.

I love you.

Godspeed to a dear friend and neighbor. I will always cherish my memories of our years as besties. You were one of a kind, Shirley, there will never be another like you. Rest in peace.

Sharon Spindler, Ludington, Michigan

My deepest sympathy to all the members of Shirley's family.

She was a friend and we had many conversations about issues that she felt strongly about, which affected the city or especially the West Side. She made a huge difference, for the good, in the lives of so many people.

Since moving to Florida, I lost contact with Shirley, but thought of her often.

Tom Mathieu, former State Representative

Sorry to hear of her passing I used to volunteer at SWAN back when Shirley was President. She made the Westside a better place by putting a lot of time and effort into anything she did. RIP Shirley you are gone but will never be forgotten We will miss you
