Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Windward was my 9th grade English Teacher (1967) at Paul Revere when I was 14. I adored her, she was the best! In 1968 we moved to the Pacific Palisades and the house we rented was on Mount Holyoke overlooking the canyon and ocean, we were getting mail for Shirley for a short time "that's my old teacher I told my mom" "that's so cool she lived here". Shirley was an inspiration, a great teacher and a wonderful person, so sorry for your loss she will be missed!

Ms. Windward was my 8th grade English teacher in the late 1950's. In 1972 she was walking out of a small hotel in remote Goma, Zaire as I was walking in. She stopped me and said, "I know your eyes" and then after all those years she said my name. It was a stunning experience. She was an extraordinary teacher.

Not a day goes by that I do not miss Shirley and Erv. What a blessing, and what an impact on the world around them and our lives. Love always your Daughter In Love

I am so sorry for your loss. I know losing a loved one is hard to go through. I will keep you in my prayers.

She was a wonderful teacher the summer of my 14th year (1968), and went on to teach my younger brother at the Windward School. My sincerest condolences to the Windward family and to all her many friends and students.
