Not sure what to say?

This was so sad to see of Shirley's passing. I was privileged to work and know her from working together at the Social Security hearing office in Grand Rapids. Shirley was always cheerful and smiling and truly cared for her family and friends. She left a legacy of service and friendship.

Gone but not forgotten - Rest In Peace my dear friend Mary Hernandez

Shirley was administrative aide for the Grand Rapids SSA District Manager Ray Backus when I was hired there as a new CRT March 1973. She processed me into the agency as a new hire. I took a transfer to the Sault Ste. Marie office in 1977 and worked in 7 other SSA offices before transferring back to the Grand Rapids SSA office in November 1998 to spend my last 1 1/2 years with SSA before retiring in June 2000 same day as Judy Root retired. Was hired as a reemployed annuitant by the GR OHA...

Shirley and I were neighbors for several years at Clark Retirement Community while she was the area rep for our "neighborhood". I'm not sure anyone could assume that responsibility with more diligence, effort, and dedication than Shirley. And when she did something, she did it right, with no question. She made such a contribution to Clark in that regard, and also contributed interesting articles from time to time to the quarterly newsletter. I have admired Shirley's spunk ... now there...

We shared many great talks at our coffee and/or lunch dates. Shirley was my best source for political news & always enlightened me. She kept me so entertained with her world travel stories! Such a fantastic listener & never failed to ask for updates on my day-to-day happenings. Still so very hard to process that she is no longer among us. Her kindness, sincerity & friendship will forever be missed.
Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Shirley was such a positive and kind person, a good friend. We talked on line fairly often and she was my connection to SSA news and persons.
I will miss her a lot.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Shirley will be missed at our OHA/ODAR/OHO retiree luncheons. She always had some great stories to share.

Shirley was one of my closest friends at ODAR. We went to lunch together and socialized together outside of work. I always appreciated her positive attitude and kindness, and will miss her.
