Shokat Afraz, 90, of Tiburon, passed away on August 23, 2017 at Marin General Hospital. She is survived by her beloved sons Saeed & Hamid Ghazi, grandchildren Taymour, Tiffany, Tavahn & Anya, and great grand children Raphael & Juniper. Shokat was born April 2, 1927 in Mashad Iran to Safar Ali Afraz and Sara Alioff. She married Abolghassem Ghazi at a tender age in her home town of Mashad. Shokat moved to the Bay Area in the late sixties with her family and immediately fell in love. Within a couple of years, she moved to Tiburon, California, where she remained lovingly for the rest of her life and began a career as an esthetician for which she was a perfect match. She adored making everyone and everything beautiful. She carried this passion for beauty and kindness into her last days, always surrounding herself with orchids, youthful pictures and elegant lipstick. We will always remember you as the woman who "smile(s) like a flower not only with (your) lips but with (your) whole being." R?m? We would like to wish a special thanks to the staff at Marin General Hospital and Kindred Nursing Home for taking such good care of our maman in her final days. Her Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Fernwood Cemetery,301 Tennessee Valley Rd. Mill Valley, CA 94941.

Not sure what to say?

We will never forget our Khaleh Shokat
She will live in our hearts❤
God bless her soul.
Our condolences

Shokat was a lovely neighbor, unfailingly kind, friendly and generous. When our girls were little they loved getting hugs from their friend across the street and made a point of trick-or-treating at her house because she was always so happy to see them. We will miss Shokat. Our condolences to her family - her passing leaves a hole in all our lives.
