GODSPEED MAJ SID BROOKSHIRE & FAMILY! It´s Deb K again. I thank you for your service. I remember our fun times together very fondly while you were in Ranger training & I in ATL, GA. Laptops were scarce in Billeting then, yet Sid emailed me a pic of an accordion in a letter/LOL! So there´s a vintage memory!! SID you were Exceptional! A dedicated, honorable, strong, capable, smart, kind, ultimate soldier. Been my honor to know you! Please send blessings to keep our World out of harm! XXOO

I was a fellow student of Sid´s at the US Naval War College in 2004. Sid got me through The planning course and is (was) the smartest person I have ever known. I was stationed in Africa when I found out from a fellow classmate. Whenever anyone asks me who the smartest person I know is I never fail to say Sid. You are missed warrior.

My memories of Sid continue especially as I hike the PCT. We had many fun times hiking and exploring in deserts and mountains. In March 2018 I hiked through some of the same places in the San Bernardino Mountains. Just one year ago my brother, Don, joined Sid
in eternity. As I completed my hike 26 March 2018 I took a picture of the trail near where I had hiked with Sid and Don. The picture unexpectedly has a beam of light shinning on the trail. I take this as a reassuring sign that Sid...

I will never forget Sid's gift to us which establishes our freedom. Today, I am going on a short hike near Lake of the Woods, Oregon. We hiked in that area in the late 90's. I will be praying for all those who stand against the evil that continues to try to destroy freedom.

Thinking of all of you. I live near Fort Stewart and Sid's story particularly tugged at my heart . What a wonderful man, soldier and leader! You are in my prayers.

Another year gone since Sid was taken home to heaven. I hiked 52 miles of the PCT in two days this week. Many times as I hiked my thoughts were on the times we hiked. Time and tides erode our memories. I strive to remember the contributions Sid made to our family. ..... Philippians 4:7
