I had the honor of "bagging" a peak with Sid in the late 70's. I worked for Sid Davis Productions as a shipping clerk/film technician while attending Fairfax High School. He invited me to climb Sawtooth Peak in Sequoia National Park in his quest to fulfill one of his mountaineering objectives. Sid Davis made a lasting impression on me. His confidence in me inspired my own self-confidence. There was a look he gave (chin up, eyelids down, and a stiffened lower lip) that, without saying a...

I was an extra in the Gang Boy film. Your dad let me ride with him to some of the film sites and then I helped him set up the plam tree scene at the beginning as well as other scenes. Your dad was fun to work with and certainly enjoyed the opportunity.

Dear Jill, It's hard to believe a year has gone by. We will never forget your dad and his "big as the outdoors," smile and personality. He loved all of us climber types and made us feel important. I think it is so funny that I watched all those Cautionary films in junior high and high school, and I never thought I'd meet the creator who would become a great friend.
Your dad loved life, and I know every time he climbed San Jac, he reunited with the mountain heart. I, too, think he is...

Sid was a long time hiking friend on Mt. San Jacinto. I climbed to the peak many times with him and camped many nights under the stars. He will always be remembered as a mountain man and inspiratioal leader. Every time I climb to the peak of Mt. San Jacinto I think of all the good times we had...Andy Hollinger

This is a wonderful memorial to your father, Sid Davis. From the first time I met Sid, I knew he was a special person. I always enjoyed being in his company whenever he visited you in Beaverton. He will be remembered for a long time to come.

I will always remember your father as being thoughtful, kind and understanding. I know my father always admired him and was grateful that he was one of our neighbors in Los Angeles. I know that if my father ever needed anything you father was always there to help. What a truly great man your father was. Thank you Sid Davis for being the man you were.
