Not sure what to say?

There aren't many teachers, instructors, or professors whose names I can remember. Sid Forman isn't one of those. Several times every year I think of him. Things he taught, and more importantly how he taught it, still echo in my life. While still in my teens he taught me how to commit information to long-term memory. Plenty of that being taught today. But in the 1980's, not so much. I use it to this day. I clearly remember specifics of his lectures and critiques of multiple films, though it...

Going thru old photos that I took when a student at SD City. Decided to look up my professor, Sid Forman. He helped me so much in photography and seeing the world thru a lens. I am forever grateful to him.

He taught me so very much about photography. It was much more beyond f-stops and camera lenses. I took what he taught me around the world, literally. I am forever grateful.

Pauline, I just heard of your husband's death. I am so very sorry. Although I didn't really know him, I do remember meeting him at least once, when I ran into the two of you at some theatre event.I can't even begin to imagine how incredibly painful this must be for you. I am so very sorry. Love from Judi Fenn Patterson, your Mt. Miguel riding buddy back in 1964-65.

Dear Pauline,
I was saddened to read of Sid's passing. I remember him as being full of life and excited about his family. I so remember you as one of my favorite religious school teachers back in the day at the old Temple Solel. Please accept my sincere sympathies.

I was so sorry to read of Sid’s passing. He was one of the most charismatic teachers I had in college.

I was fortunate that Sid taught in my major so I filled my schedule with his classes in English, literature and photojournalism.

I remember only a few of the teachers from those years, but Sid is certainly is one of them.

Sid was an engaging teacher. You were motivated to come prepared to his classes not out of concern for exams or dread of failure but because if you...

I was a student in Sid's photography class at City College in the mid-70's. He was a wonderful teacher who made everyone feel talented. His passion for his craft was contagious. We enjoyed his clever banter and his many "field" trips around the area. He was a memorable man, and he will be missed.

Fondly, Sue Strom Blitz

Sid my friend you will be greatly missed. All those smiles and great sence of humor. I will never forget those poached eggs and well done bacon. only for you Sid. I will miss you.

Very sorry, Pauline, to read of Sidney's recent death. I lost Tootie a year ago after 50 years so I know what you have suffered and what you will be going through. Time supposedly heals, but if it does, it's a slow process. Keep strong, and you have my very best wishes.
