Sidney Andre Odom

As times goes by, it cannot erase the memories of my dear friend. We grew up together in the Edgar Ward Housing Projects. We had a lot of fun back then. To show you just how close we were, his nieces and nephews were my nieces and nephews. As a matter of fact, they called me Uncle Jesse. Where is Chatty? I miss Sidney because true friends like that are rare these days. Rest in power my brother. You are in good company up there.

I was more than surprised to learn of the transition of my dear friend and spritual brother "uncle Sidney" . I shall, as many others will ,cherish wonderful memories of this kind and caring soul that we had the privilege of knowing on this earth. I know in my heart that Almighty God will show favour on our brother. To his family, remain strong, remain unified and always remain loving. See you at the West Dallas Reunion, June 14, 2014. God felt it was time for the ultimate peace and sent his angel for Sidney. I Thank him for being the person my son looked up to. In some way it influenced him to be a good man. Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. To the Odom family, suffer not because God gave you the chance to experience love and happiness thru one of his sons. He fulfilled his duties here and now he is at peace.

Uncle Sidney, I will always remember the fun times we shared, you were my favorite uncle, words can not express the hurt that I am feeling, you took good care of my siblings and I while my mother worked, we were fed and clean, I will never forget you, I will be here for mama, you were her best friend, and the only family member that she could depend on, I will make sure that, mama will be okay, she is so thrilled that you left her the note that said, she is healed, and that you love her,...

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
