Monarch Society Obituary

Siegfried “Siegi” Faller Jr, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. He was born in Kitzbuhel, Tirol, Austria on July 20, 1931, the only child of Siegfried Faller Sr, and Anna Rieser Faller.

A lifelong hotelier, Siegi first developed his hotel hospitality skills at the family’s hotel, the Kitzbuheler Hof.  After further hotel schooling in Austria and Switzerland, he emigrated to North America in 1951 where he managed resort hotels in Sea Island, Georgia, Nassau in the Bahamas, and Mt Tremblant, Quebec. In the early 1960’s, Siegi and his former wife, Olga, moved their family to Colorado to assist with the development of Vail, where he was the first manager of the Lodge at Vail.

In 1963 he and his family moved to Colorado Springs where for the next thirty years he was instrumental in the business growth and expansion of the Broadmoor Hotel as Director of Sales and Conventions. In that role he hosted the world’s business and political leaders, national and international business conventions, well known celebrities, and led the effort to bring the FITASC Sporting Clays World Championships to the Broadmoor.

Siegi always enjoyed his wide variety of good friends and the outdoors, especially duck hunting, upland shooting, big game hunting, and alpine skiing. He enjoyed and shared good food and beverage, which was learned in the hotel business. He was actively involved in wildlife conservation groups such as Ducks Unlimited.

After retiring in the early 1990’s, Siegi dedicated countless hours to his family, passion for shooting, fishing, and touring in his Porsche.

Siegi leaves behind his four children Siegfried III, Maximilian Johan, Christina, and Jan Christoph, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Celebration of Siegi’s life will held at a later date. Please check back. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a Wildlife Preservation Organization of your choice in his name.

Not sure what to say?

This is Pat Wilbur saying that I just saw this and send fond memories to Siegfried 111, my daughter Karen found this and sent to me. Fondly Pat

Sending my condolences to the Faller clan. Wishing you all courage and strength during this difficult time. My wife Vicki and I went to Jr High and High School with Sieg III a few years ago...

Getting hang out with Siegi was always welcome! You knew the time would pass quickly especially when he started to tell a wonderful story. What a great Gentleman, he will be missed.

Siegi was one of a kind. Great wing shot, wonderful mentor, consummate gentleman, and one of the best story tellers I ever met.

He will be sorely missed.

Condolences to Max and the rest of the Faller family.

My condolences to the family from an old friend of Seig (III), Max and Christina (we all used to go to school together)

I only was blessed to know Siegi for the last 5 years. He made quite an impact and I’ll never forget him. He always stood when I entered a room; such a chivalrous and kind person. Such interesting stories! I am humbled to even meet a gent like Siegi. A honor to know you. Thank you and Bless you!!
