Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to learn of this my father was very close to to the spiegels this were incredible people warm and giving

I worked for the Spiegels for many years in East Meadow, Sigmund and Ruth were very nice to me. I am sorry, Bret people.

I am so sorry I did not spend more time with you. I have always admired and respected you for you brilliance and humanity.

Mr. Spiegel spoke yearly at our St. Martha's Confirmation Class. We and our students were frankly in awe of him and deeply moved by his experiences and humanity. For me personally he is of my father's and uncle's WWII veteran generation who have left a hole in the soul of the world with their passing. We are alone now. It is up to us, as Mr. Spiegel said at the end of each of his presentations, "To stand up and not be silent in the face of evil." We are comforted in knowing he is with his...

To my dear friends, the Spiegels, in your time of sorrow. Growing up across the street, I thought of Mr. Spiegel as the very kind, gentlemanly father of my dear friend, Debbie. Little did I know then of the circumstances surrounding his remarkable service to this country nor the many achievements and contributions yet to come. There is no doubt he will be sorely missed. I hope there is some small comfort in knowing he was someone who truly left the world a much better place for having been...

Joan and I were saddened to hear about Sig's passing. He was a GENTLEMAN! He was a modest and caring person. When I was a High School Principal and later a Superintendent at East Meadow, I asked Sig to come in and speak to the students about the Holocaust. He was so terrific. He was able to reach the students in such a low key manner. Never did he talk about his own achievements. Students regarded him as a living history lesson - something they wouldn't get from reading a text book. He...

I have many memories of Mr Spiegel and his family going back more than 50 years. He was a devoted husband and father. He and Mrs Spiegel were like my second parents, and Sandra my other sister.
I had the opportunity to work for him for three years in the late 1960's and got to see his talent for design first hand.
My love and sincere condolences go out to Mrs Spiegel, Sandi, and Debbie.
