Simon was born on August 2, 1935 and passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Simon (Sam) Moses Downs, Jr. Date: 9/22/2019 Thomasville Mr. Simon (Sam) Moses Downs, Jr., 84, of Huntsford Ter. passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Wake Forest High Point Regional Medical Center. He earned his bachelors of science from the Wake Forest University, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Being a life long resident of Thomasville, Mr. Downs was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, former Scout Master of Memorial boy scouts, member of Thomasville Masonic Lodge #214, sang in the "Evening of Music", and served on the YMCA board. A private interment will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. No formal visitation will be held.
