We met William and Simon on a Princess cruise where we quickly became table mates. (We had mistakenly taken their table on the first night!) We quickly became the best of friends. They visited us here in Florida and we visited them in San Francisco (photo below includes my mother and sister.) Simon's kindness and gentle nature will always be an inspiration to us.

I met Simon and William on a cruise to Alaska with my mother. I remember meeting in an elevator as they were ready to go out and about for an adventure and somehow, we all just instantly connected and went off on adventures for the rest of the cruise. Dear William. Am so sorry to hear that your beloved Simon has passed. Can only imagine at how devastated you must be feeling. Know he had been poorly for some time. You cared for him, nurtured him but most of all loved him. Sending my deepest sympathy.

We met Simon and William cruising on the Grand Princess when the ship broke down on our way to Hawaii. We met them in a trivia game and introduced them to another pair of trivia teammates/friends we met separately. Together, we became a set of 6 friends that we named "Bay Area Nation" who ended up cruised together a handful of times and saw each other in the SF Bay Area, including a terrific tour of the Castro.
