Simone M. Lipman

I am very saddened by Simone's death. I came to know her and her late husband Martin in recent years, after she contacted me, having found out about our common Alsatian Background, though I am not Jewish. I grew up in Strasbourg, Alsace, and though my itinerary has been quite different from Simone's, I am also of the WW2 generation. I visited her many times; we shared common memories, I learned from her incredible experiences, and we delighted in recalling small Alsatian particularities...

We are saddened by the news of Simone's death. She truly was a woman of valor who gave so much to all. We send our sincere condolences to her family who have truly lost a treasure.
